No, Voonami will not cap your data or throttle your bandwidth. Feel free to use the data that you need without a worry that your internet speeds will slow down.

You will be provided with a Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to connect you to Voonami’s internet service. A technician will install and mount the ONT for you at the beginning of your service at no additional charge. However, you will need to purchase and connect a router to the ONT in order to access the internet.

Through a one-of-a-kind agreement with UTOPIA Fiber (itself a collection of city-owned fiber networks), Bountiful City will own the infrastructure and UTOPIA will build and operate the system. In the future the City can choose to operate the system ourselves if it’s in the best interest of residents. In the meantime, Bountiful Fiber is a highspeed fiber optic network owned by residents and operated with UTOPIA’s unmatched speed, reliability, and competitive pricing.

If you want Wi-Fi running throughout your home, you will need a wireless router. Voonami does not provide routers so you will need to purchase your own. For the best results possible and to maximize your bandwidth, we recommend routers from Linksys and Netgear. Be sure to purchase a router capable of handling at least 1Gbps of speed. Feel free to contact us for specific router recommendations.

Yes, you will be billed separately from Bountiful City and Voonami. Bountiful City will bill you for the fiber line and Voonami will bill you for the service to access the internet over that line.
